The Department of Health and Exercise Science is an interdisciplinary department housing nationally accredited and recognized programs including Bachelor of Science degrees in Athletic Training (phase out to be completed by May 2021), Exercise Science, and Public Health and Master of Science degrees in Athletic Training (beginning 2020), and Exercise Science.
The Beaver College of Health Sciences (BCHS) is the newest and second largest college at Appalachian State University, with over 3,400 undergraduate and graduate students served by 150 faculty and staff. Committed to interprofessional innovation and collaboration in teaching, scholarship, service and clinical outreach, the BCHS is transforming the health and quality of life for the communities we serve. In fall of 2018, the College will occupy a new state-of-the-art 203,000 square foot facility. Appalachian State has approximately 18,000 students, primarily in bachelors and masters programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. Nestled high in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern North Carolina, the region is renowned for its scenic beauty and outdoor recreation such as hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, and canoeing.
