Berkshire Soccer Academy

Company Overview

Overview: The Berkshire Soccer Academy is a unique training setting for girls, ages 10 to 16, who are passionate about soccer and looking to elevate their game. BSA is the only specialty soccer camp to actively infuse balance and fun into a rigorous training environment. Female athletes will experience world-class training for the whole player, unforgettable camp fun, and meaningful relationships with other athletes and their coaches.

Location: The Berkshire Soccer Academy for Girls takes place at a private, picturesque 116-acre training facility located in East Otis, Massachusetts, approximately 2 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. The camp surrounds a pristine 20-acre lake and is adjacent to the 1,000-acre Tolland State Forest.

Facilities: Our athletic facilities include two full-size, natural grass fields; and one artificial turf field. We also have a shooting wall with turf surface, hard court for soccer tennis, and an indoor strength and conditioning area. Other areas include our lakeside dining hall, playhouse with stage, and oversized recreational deck. The lake is outfitted with a swimming area, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, fishing docks, and a blob.

Accommodations: Athletes live in newly-renovated cabins with pine-paneling, comfortable beds, electricity, screened windows, and storage areas. Each cabin has its own bathrooms and showers. A typical cabin houses 8-12 athletes, and 2-3 cabin counselors, many of whom are NCAA athletes from our soccer staff. Cabin Counselors provide ongoing supervision and promote friendships among cabin-mates.

Benefits

Visiting Pros & TeamFirst: BSA partners with TeamFirst Soccer Academy and other Visiting Pros to bring in the best of the best from the women’s game, providing our girls with an unforgettable experience. Visiting coaches include US Women’s National Team legends Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly, Brandi Chastain, Heather O’Reilly and more. Visiting Pros are hands-on with our athletes during training sessions, meals, electives, and more. Each athlete receives a photo with the Pro and an autographed item, so the memories last a lifetime.

Mental Skills: Another unique Academy trademark is the mental skills training that is intentionally woven throughout all aspects of the Academy experience. By challenging players physically, mentally, and socially, we maximize development and foster more enhanced athletes. Berky Girls learn techniques to overcome mistakes, set goals, embrace feedback, and reflect on their performances through meaningful debriefing sessions and journaling led by their coaches and our resident Sport Psychologist.

Elective Program: To balance the intensity of soccer training, athletes enjoy elective periods where they can relax, spend time with friends, and most importantly, have fun! There are typically two elective periods offered daily. Elective activities include but are not limited to: Yoga, Fishing, Dance & Theatre, Cooking, Outdoor Adventure, Rec Deck, Arts & Crafts and of course Swimming, Canoeing, and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding in our private lake.

Healthy Camp Meals: A well-balanced and nutritious menu provides the girls with the energy and nutrition necessary to compete at the highest level. A variety of entrees and side dishes are offered at each meal. Fruit, salad, and pasta bars are always featured, with fresh produce and whole grain pastas, breads and cereals. We offer healthy snacks every evening, with occasional indulgences like ice cream, homemade desserts, and s'mores of course!
