Real Success Is Serving Our Community
Twenty-one years ago, Miami Valley Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital came together to form Premier Health, and, over time, Atrium Medical Center and Upper Valley Medical Center joined the health system. All four hospitals shared the common mission to build healthier communities and positively impact the individuals who live and work in those communities. Together with the hospitals, our health system offers more than one hundred sites of service that include primary care and specialty physician practices, home health care, behavioral health, and much more. By communities entrusting their health to us, through thousands of patient visits annually, Premier Health has grown to be the largest health system in Southwest Ohio.
We have been proud to provide countless firsts in the Dayton region, including: the first emergency department; intensive care unit; air ambulance; open heart surgery; family-centric birthing suites; transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR); Magellan™ Robotic System for peripheral vascular procedures; the daVinci® Surgical System for minimally-invasive procedures, and many others.
Our vision has always included bringing excellence through the attraction and retention of top medical, clinical, and support staff professionals; the capacity to invest in advanced technologies; and the opportunity to collaborate across the health system and throughout the region with like-minded community partners. Throughout the years, working with the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine to train thousands of medical residents has brought the next generation of physicians to our region, and creates a natural pipeline to fill the medical needs of our communities.
