Company Profile

Professional Physical Therapy

Company History

Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy began its quest to provide the highest quality of care in the field of physical therapy and athletic training services in 1998. Its first office was located in Bayside, Queens at 32-49A, Francis Lewis Blvd.
The company was then known as PRO-FIT and its owners and operators were Adam Elberg, MS, PT, ATC, CSCS, Robert Panariello, MS, PT, ATC, CSCS, and George Papadopoulos, MS, PT, ATC.
Under their combined guidance and vision, Professional soon established itself as a leader in physical therapy and athletic training; its philosophy of offering patients a complete package, which includes a detailed initial evaluation, in-office rehabilitation and a comprehensive home exercise program, was unprecedented. Professional’s in-office therapy offers patients hands-on treatment by a team of licensed physical therapists, therapeutic modalities and exercises with state-of-the-art equipment and a team of licensed athletic trainers (ATs).
Professional’s continued success in Queens lead to the addition to facilities in Manhattan, Westchester, Long Island and NJ. Currently, there are 13 offices in total with scheduled openings of more offices in the near future in Paramus, NJ and White Plains, NY.
Concurrently, Professional provided athletic training services to various schools in the New York Metropolitan area. Initially, Professional covered three schools in its infancy however we currently provide contracted athletic training services to several schools in Westchester, Long Island and New York City as well as per diem coverage for numerous events each year. We presently staff over 80 NATA and NYS certified Athletic Trainers with the focus on the welfare of the student athletes that we serve. Additionally, we have a Sports Medicine management team that is devoted to the administration, supervision and education of our athletic trainers. This Sports Medicine staff makes frequent visits to our contracted schools and interacts with the athletic trainer, athletic director and coaching staff, ensuring that a high level of athletic training services are delivered to our clients.
In the 2011, Professional Athletic Training Services, PLLC, was formed to streamline the focus of Professional Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, P.C., to its athletic training services.
