Southern Illinois University Carbondale is a contemporary, comprehensive student-responsive university committed to providing quality teaching, research and service. In keeping with the University's mission, the primary purpose of intercollegiate athletics is to sponsor a broad-based, fiscally and ethically responsible athletics program designed to promote each student-athlete's academic, athletic and personal well-being and development. It is our goal to create a culture of excellence for our student-athletes, staff and fans that values integrity, diversity, equity, sportsmanship and community service.
