Company Overview
The University of North Florida serves as one of 11 public universities in Florida. UNF opened in 1972 and began admitting freshmen in 1984. The university enrolls more than 16,000 students and is located in Jacksonville, a major metropolitan center of Northeast Florida.
The UNF Department of Athletics believes in total commitment to improving the lives of its student-athletes. All decisions are based on the idea that our athletes, who are the leaders of tomorrow, are students first. The commitment is providing student-athletes with the assistance necessary to balance athletic and academic participation.
The University of North Florida Athletics Department moved to the NCAA Division I ranks in fall 2005. At UNF, you'll be part of a big family. All of North Florida's 19 intercollegiate sports compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference except for swimming and diving, who compete in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association. UNF's list of sponsored sports includes baseball, basketball (m&w), cross country (m&w), golf (m&w), soccer (m&w), softball, swimming and diving (w), tennis (m&w), indoor track (m&w) and outdoor track (m&w) and women's indoor and sand volleyball.

>>In 2009-10, All UNF athletic programs were eligible for all postseason play on the NCAA Division I level.
>>In 2005-06, all UNF teams competed in their inaugural seasons in the Atlantic Sun Conference and posted impressive results. Six UNF teams finished in the top four in the conference standings (men's and women's cross country, men's golf, baseball, women's soccer and volleyball). Baseball and golf each posted runner-up finishes.
>>UNF has had at least six teams that would have been eligible for postseason play in its first three years in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
>>The UNF golf team captured the program’s first Atlantic Sun Conference title in 2008 winning the A-Sun Championship with a one-stroke win over defending league champion East Tennessee State.
>>The University of North Florida Athletics Department moved to the NCAA Division I ranks in fall 2005, but prior to the move, the Ospreys' athletics teams had a storied history of success. Three NAIA and one Division II national championship have given the UNF athletics program a history of success. UNF won the Sunshine State Conference's men's and women's All-Sports Trophies in 1993, its first year in Division II. After four years in the Sunshine State Conference, UNF moved into the Peach Belt Conference in 1997, becoming the 12th member school.
>>During the 2003-04 season, UNF won the PBC Commissioner's Cup for an unprecedented fifth consecutive year and captured four conference and two regional titles. In 2004-05, the Ospreys closed out their Division II membership by winning three conference titles, two regional crowns and advancing to NCAA postseason play in eight sports.
