Company Overview
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is an urban research university committed to academic excellence. A Carnegie-designated Doctoral/Research Intensive institution, it is one of two doctoral degree granting institutions in the University of Wisconsin System. UWM has an enrollment of over 30,000 students and currently offers 155 degree programs through 14 schools and colleges. The 90-acre campus is located in an attractive residential neighborhood on Milwaukee’s northeast side, only a few minutes from downtown Milwaukee and the shores of Lake Michigan. The Department of Kinesiology, housed in the College of Health Sciences is comprised of internationally recognized faculty and staff and offers BS, MS, and Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees, including the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) Accredited Entry-Level Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). The ATEP offers the benefits of a large research-intensive campus with the personal attention afforded to smaller campuses. More information regarding the ATEP can be found online, www.atep.uwm.edu. Implementation of a departmental PhD is underway, and the department also participates in the College of Health Sciences multi-disciplinary PhD in Health Sciences. There are 23 full-time faculty and academic staff members in the department. The department enjoys outstanding research and instructional facilities.
