Volusia County, located in the heart of the beautiful east coast of Florida, is a rapidly growing, progressive area. Sixteen municipalities make up the county, with Daytona Beach, DeLand, Deltona, Ormond Beach and Port Orange as the largest metropolitan areas.

Volusia County Schools is creating life-long learners for an ever-changing global society! Volusia's public school system is equally rich in what it offers. With over 63,000 students and over 7,800 employees, the district is the state's 13th largest school district in Florida and is the largest employer in Volusia County. VCS has 45 elementary schools, 12 middle schools, 10 high schools, 8 alternative schools, and the virtual school Volusia Online Learning.
More than half of the district's employees are skilled teachers, all of whom are state-certified. Approximately 43 percent of instructional staff hold master's degrees, educational specialist degrees or doctorate degrees. Volusia County offers higher educational options through Daytona State College, the University of Central Florida, Bethune-Cookman University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Keiser College, Stetson University and Nova Southeastern University.

Company History
Volusia County Schools is the public school district for Volusia County, Florida. Volusia County Schools was created in 1854, and its public school system has grown to serve over 63,000 students across more than 85 schools, making it the 57th largest school district in the United States and the state's 14th largest district and a major employer.
The district serves the 16 cities of Daytona Beach, DeBary, DeLand, DeLeon Springs, Deltona, Edgewater, Enterprise, Holly Hill, Lake Helen, New Smyrna Beach, Oak Hill, Orange City, Ormond Beach, Osteen, Pierson, and Port Orange. The district is composed of 45 elementary schools, 13 middle schools, and 10 high schools. In addition, there are 8 alternative schools, 7 charter schools, and 1 district virtual instruction program.
