Description
Delta State University is currently accepting applications for two Assistant Athletic Trainer positions for the 2026-27 academic year. Delta State is a member of the Gulf South Conference in NCAA Division II scholarship athletics, hosts 13 Varsity sports, and located in Cleveland, MS. Positions are 12-month full-time appointments with benefits. Sport assignments are negotiable but primarily seeking to fill coverage for basketball and soccer.
Responsibilities
Athletic Trainers will assist with the planning, organization, coordination, and management of health care to intercollegiate student-athletes. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in the operation of the athletic training facility, facilitating prevention programs, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. The Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary athletic trainer for the team(s) to which they are assigned, will be responsible for all medical coverage for these teams, and may be assigned some administrative duties by the Head Athletic Trainer. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, event coverage, traveling with assigned athletic team(s), and other duties assigned by the athletic training staff. This position offers the opportunity for team coverage in intercollegiate athletics, athletic training room operation experience, exposure to administrative duties, and close interaction with the team physician.

Requirements
- Bachelors/Masters degree from an Accredited Athletic Training Education Program
- BOC Certified
- Mississippi State Licensure or eligible
- First Aid/CPR Certified
