Position Summary
Ascension Texas Sports & Event Medicine is seeking (2) highly motivated Assistant Athletic Trainers to support the Lead/Supervisor Athletic Trainer for the Leander ISD Athletics Partnership. This role serves as a key clinical provider within the Leander ISD middle school ecosystem, ensuring high-quality care and navigation for student-athletes within the Ascension Texas network.
The Assistant Athletic Trainers will be part of a team providing coverage for 9 middle schools within Leander ISD, functioning as frontline clinical resources and liaisons between athletes, families, and district leadership.

- Contracting Entities: Leander ISD / Ascension Seton
- Primary Location: Leander ISD Middle Schools
- Schedule: 40 Hours per Week during the Academic Year ,Summer months (June and July) may include support for orthopedic clinics, community outreach, and summer sports programming coverage
Core Purpose of the Role
- The Assistant Athletic Trainer serves as:
- A clinical provider supporting the Lead Athletic Trainer in managing sports medicine services for 9 middle schools alongside 2 additional Full Time Certified
- Athletic Trainers and PRNs.
- A frontline liaison for student-athletes and families navigating the Ascension Texas healthcare network.
- A facilitator of injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation protocols across the district.
Primary Clinical Responsibilities
- Middle School Coverage: Provide clinical services across Leander ISD’s 9 middle school campuses as directed by the Lead Athletic Trainer.
- Injury Management: Perform injury evaluations, acute treatments, and coordinate rehabilitation plans.
- Saturday Clinics: Participate in Saturday sports medicine injury clinics as assigned.
- Concussion Protocols: Assist with annual in-kind concussion baseline testing for up to 7,000 participants.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate injury records using the RankOne Sport EMR system.

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training.
BOC Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in the State of Texas.
Current CPR/AED certification.
