About the Position:
Crestwood Medical Center is seeking an athletic trainer to support John Paul Catholic School II, located in Huntsville Alabama. John Paul Catholic School II is a private school that is continuing to grow its athletics program. Huntsville is in north Alabama, about 2 hours from Nashville, 1.5 hours from Birmingham, and 3 hours from Atlanta. Huntsville is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with beautiful scenery and plenty of activities.

Position Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) assists in the operations of the Sports Medicine Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing athletic training services to a local high school. The ATC works with team physicians, coaches, parents, athletes as well as other allied health professionals to prevent, evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate all sports related injuries.
Position Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide athletic training services including but not limited to injury prevention, recognition, evaluation, as well as acute injury & illness management
Development and maintenance of emergency action plans - Communicate appropriately and effectively with coaches, administration, event coordinators, parents, student-athletes, and other healthcare providers
- Maintains professional certification and licensure in good standing
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality
- Provide education
- Manage sports medicine supplies and equipment inventory
- Schedules, coordinates and communicates referrals to specialists and services ordered by the provider.
- Keep appropriate referral tracking and documentation
- Participation in yearly physicals provided orthopedic group

Experience:
- Minimum Required Experience: No experience required, new grads are welcome to apply
Education:
- Minimum Required Education: bachelor’s degree in athletic training
Licenses:
- Minimum Required Licenses: Alabama State License
Certifications:
- Minimum Required Certifications: BOC, BLS
