Athletic Trainer Vacancy
The Athletic Department of Bath Local Schools, located in Northwest Ohio, is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to support the health and safety of our grade 7-12 student athletes. The athletic trainer will work with coaches, school staff, and healthcare professionals to prevent, evaluate, and treat sports-related injuries while promoting safe athletic participation. This is a full-time position, beginning August 1st, with 212 working days in a school year.
Bath Local Schools is located in Lima, Ohio with approximately 400 student athletes grades 7-12. Bath Local Schools competes in the Western Buckeye League, is a Division IV school with 18 sports offered to our students. https://www.bathwildcats.org/
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment for student-athletes
- Attend athletic practices and home sporting events as assigned
- Develop and implement rehabilitation and injury recovery programs
- Coordinate care with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate injury reports and treatment documentation
- Educate athletes and coaches on injury prevention, conditioning, and safe training practices
- Assist with emergency care and concussion management protocols
- Ensure athletic training room and equipment are properly maintained
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Certification through the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends during athletic season
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with high school or collegiate athletics
- Experience with injury rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols
