Job Title: Head Football Athletic Trainer
Reports to: Director of Sports Medicine

Monroe University is seeking a Fulltime Head Football Athletic Trainer position within the athletic department in New Rochelle, NY. Monroe University Mustangs houses 19 sports programs. Description:
The Head Football Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine, Director of Athletics and Team Physician to provide athletic training care to student athletes competing in the university’s athletic program. They are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries within the university’s comprehensive sports medicine program and under the direction of the standing orders set by the university’s Team Physician.
Primary Responsibilities:
Football
Secondary Sport coverage
Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses
Evaluation and Treatment of athletic injuries
Work collaboratively with members of the sports medicine team and athletic department
Assist in yearly physicals
Providing counseling and education to student athletes
Set up and breakdown for home and away contests of water, ice, training table, medical supplies etc.
Home game and Practice Coverages
Travel to away games
Recordkeeping and EMR documentation
Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes
Maintenance of the Athletic Training Room
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training with experience in collegiate athletics
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with football
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
NYS Athletic Training Licensure
Emergency Cardiac Care Certification
Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, have the ability to travel, and possess communication skills to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff, administration, and outside contacts
Flexibility to attend functions organized by Monroe University with intent to educate, share, and celebrate the Monroe University philosophy and the success of our students
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Athletic Training or appropriate area of specialization with experience in collegiate athletics
Familiarity with NCAA DII governing rules
