The University of Memphis Sports Medicine Department is actively seeking highly motivated, team-oriented Athletic Trainers for potential assignments in newly established positions including:
Football (2)
Baseball
Track & Field / Cross Country
Men’s Soccer
Softball, Dance
Each assignment represents a full-time position with autonomy, impact, and growth potential within a Power 5-caliber operating model.

Position Overview
Provide comprehensive, high-level medical care and performance support to Division I student-athletes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Final title, sport assignment, responsibilities, and salary to be offered will be determined after evaluation of application materials and completion of interview process.
Core Responsibilities
Deliver full-spectrum athletic training services: prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation
Provide daily practice, competition, and travel coverage
Design and drive return-to-play progressions
Maintain elite-level medical documentation and communication standards
Coordinate care with team physicians and outside providers
Communicate clearly and decisively with coaches and performance staff
Execute and refine Emergency Action Plans and safety protocols
Contribute to an integrated performance and wellness model
Expanded Responsibilities (Assistant Director / Associate Director)
Lead, mentor, and develop staff, fellows, and students
Influence hiring, onboarding, and staff development
Take ownership in emergency management systems and compliance
Shape departmental policy, procedures, and performance integration
Be a voice at the table in Sports Medicine evolution and innovation
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Athletic Training)
BOC Certified
Tennessee licensure (or eligible)
CPR/AED/First Aid certified
Commitment to NCAA and institutional compliance
Salary Range (Based on Experience & Role)
Hiring Range $50,000-$70,000
Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications per position availability.
