JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Athletic Trainer assists the Head Athletic Trainer/Athletics Health Care Administrator (HAT/AHCA) in all aspects of the athletic training and athletic health care functions for varsity athletics. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with the day-to-day athletic training and athletics health care program for 18 varsity sports with over 650 student-athletes, assisting with professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the athletic health care program, and assisting in monitoring the athletic department's health and safety practices to ensure compliance with WPI risk management and NCAA Division III legislation. This is a 10 month position.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist the HAT/AHCA in all aspects of athletic training and athletic health care services for the varsity athletic program, including testing, evaluation, treatments, rehabilitation, and medical referrals
- Assist with monitoring inventory and purchasing supplies
- Produce detailed and accurate written and electronic documentation of varsity athletic injuries/conditions, treatment, rehabilitation, and progress notes with coaching and physician referrals
- Provide coverage for all varsity team practices and athletic competitions as assigned
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training
- NATA/BOC Certification
- Licensed in Massachusetts
- AED/First Aid and CPR certified
- 1-3 years of athletic training at a collegiate level with experience in contact sports
- Master's degree in Athletic Training preferred
Salary Grade 6: $55,400 - $$64,000 per year (depending on experience)
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
