Cognito Systems, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture is seeking a dedicated and experienced Athletic Trainer to provide exceptional care and support to our military personnel stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, NC. As a civilian contractor working for Cognito Systems, you will serve as an Athletic Trainer, contributing to the mission of the United States Marine Corps’ Sports Medicine Injury Prevention (SMIP) Program. Your expertise will play a vital role in optimizing performance and readiness.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
On-site Certified Athletic Trainer services for the Sports Medicine Injury Prevention Program (SMIP) to reduce attrition and lost workdays associated with musculoskeletal injuries in order to increase operational readiness of individual Marines and their units.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5-years’ experience as a licensed Athletic Trainer
EDUCATION: Master's (preferred) or bachelor's degree in athletic training
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Must be BOC certified and possess state athletic training licensure, certification and registration. NPI Number Required.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 40/hour work week
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinical directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required.
Be a U.S. Citizen
Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
Recommended/Preferred:
Experience working with higher level athletes and/or tactical military personnel.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Design and implement strength and conditioning programs (flexibility, strength, cardiovascular fitness) to reduce the risk of injury and illness.
- Ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate throughout the program to enhance the quality of patient care delivered.
- Document care provided, work performed, utilization, referrals, and all other information in the Military’s Electronic Health Record.
- Possess demonstrated strength and conditioning experience.
- Possess and maintain the ability to assist with Strength and Conditioning testing and training protocols,
- Possess and maintain the ability to lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 20 kilograms/45 Lbs.
Possess knowledge of the application of the following equipment: Biodex Isokinetic elevation and stimulation, ski machines, stair machines, treadmill exercisers, gravitron, free weights and universal machines, Biomechanical Ankle Platform System (BAPS) board, aquatic therapeutic devices and instruction in therapeutic, corrective and rehabilitative exercises using specific equipment and strength training devices.
Possess and maintains a valid government Secret security clearance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Possess and maintain a level of fitness sufficient to participate in various Marine Corps physical training activities (obstacle courses, calisthenics, etc.) and the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe Marine training evolutions. The level of participation in these activities will be sufficient to gain a clear appreciation in order to identify possible causal injury factors in Marine training.
